12" and 17" PowerBooks Two groundbreaking new PowerBook computers. Exciting new Apple software — including Safari, a revolutionary web browser for the Mac; Keynote, a powerful presentation application; Final Cut Express, a video editor that lets you edit like a pro; and iLife, an integrated suite of Apple’s award-winning digital hub applications. And even a high-tech ski and snowboarding jacket that makes it easy to listen to your tunes while slaloming down the slopes.

On January 7, Steve Jobs unveiled these products and outlined the latest Apple news to a packed audience at Macworld San Francisco — and to tens of thousands tuned in online.

The live webcast of the event was the largest MPEG-4 stream ever delivered — even streaming directly into the Vatican, according to Jobs. Missed the event? Not to worry. Catch the QuickTime video of the complete presentation on our website.

TV Ads Sporting shiny new aircraft-grade aluminum enclosures, the two new PowerBook computers introduced at MacWorld San Francisco include the world’s first 17-inch notebook and the most compact full-featured PowerBook Apple has ever made.

To see what these new PowerBooks can do and to hear what several celebrities (including Aaron Sorkin, writer of “The West Wing”) think about them, watch the Intro video featuring Apple’s Phil Schiller and Jonathan Ive. And be sure to catch Apple’s new TV ads, including one in which two guys you’ll recognize size up the new PowerBook computers on an airplane.

Watching music videos is always fun. But for a new kind of treat, Thomas Wendt wants you to have an interactive psychedelic experience.

Superfluid For his debut album, Superfluid’s “Nightfall at the Crashsite,” Wendt integrated the OIC MusicBox, a QuickTime-based music delivery system that lets you immerse yourself in panoramic visuals while you listen. Explore a different image for each track. Use controls to change the way the images move and visual effects buttons to modify them. For extra drama and a mind-bending experience, view the panoramas in full-screen size.

So you’ve mastered the basics of iMovie or Final Cut Pro. Why not dress up your movies with professional-quality special effects? It’s simple and inexpensive using the latest plug-ins.

Virtix For instance, Zoom and Pan Filters 2.0 from Virtix lets you work directly within iMovie to zoom in and out or pan around video. It supports transparency and lets you superimpose stills on top of background video.

The Virtix website includes QuickTime demos of Zoom and Pan Filters 2.0, along with demos of other plug-ins available for iMovie and Final Cut Pro.
